Mariola Homoncik is a multi-faceted polish designer based in Poland and creating since 2021.
"Now everything is sewn and developed by order from my studio in Cracow. I focused on shapes and cuts, aesthetics in a sustainable way, and traditional craftsmanship. I create focus from choosing good materials to at the end of the loop and using offcuts from production to create new meaningful products.
By meeting this process I developed how to use all cut-off fabrics from production to create new styles. This way of creation allows me to explore new ways of design. Thanks to this my clothes are free from trend-led boundaries.
In my garments, I try to explore the relationship between humans, body, and shape. Attention to fit, fabric and print make customers' bodies feel confident, strong and feeling comfortable in their skin. I am keen on emphasizing a slower, more sustainable approach to fashion retailing.
The way of my designs is important. Every project has a characteristic, asymmetrical form designed and formed by me. It is not a standard form of clothes. Every piece is cut in an original, individual way. This method makes the uses of the material as high as possible.
Suture and seam formations vary and are unique to each customer. Finished garments may vary due to artisanal manufacturing. Some garments are unique and cannot be recreated through „cut-off" production."
