SCAR KENNEDY

Scar Kennedy is a non-binary knitwear designer inspired by sea creatures and the natural
world. Using hand-manipulated machine-knitting techniques, Scar creates 3D, sculptural
textiles. These textiles emulate organic forms; spikes, tentacles, nipples, and barnacles. Using natural materials such as mohair and lambswool allows the pieces to be felted to create an animalistic texture. The pieces are designed to heighten tactility, to encourage the ‘reach out and touch', to interact with the topography of the fabric. All yarn used is deadstock to ensure the sustainability of the pieces and the additive process of machine knitting makes the pieces waste-free.
