Rayas

Rayas Collective combines traditional weaving techniques with contemporary design and creates unique basket bags, handmade in El Salvador. Our basket bags are handmade in partnership with a small female-led collective, keeping traditional Salvadorain artisanship alive and empowering women to establish and run their own business. Founded in Berlin in 2022 by sisters in law Luisa Kahlfeldt and Consuelo Campos Kahlfeldt, Rayas Collective promotes the empowerment of women through creativity and craftsmanship. Rayas baskets are woven from locally produced plastic, which makes our baskets waterproof, lightweight, UV-resistant and extremely durable. Dirt from a lake day or spilled yoghourt from a grocery run easily wipes away.
